Moscow has no info on jets escorting Russian liners over U.S.

MOSCOW. Aug 30 (Interfax) - Moscow has not received an official notification from Washington that fighter jets will accompany all Russian planes in U.S. skies from now on, Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Yakovenko said on Monday.

Russian and American media have released reports to the effect.

"I must say that we have not received such notification from the American authorities through official channels," he said.

"By the way, Russian newspapers reported on Monday that on Sunday, Aeroflot denied claims that U.S. fighters will allegedly accompany its flights," Yakovenko said.
