YUKOS CRISIS TO BE SETTLED SOON

IRKUTSK, July 25 /from RIA Novosti's Alla Isayeva/ - Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov believes tension between the business community and the government that has arisen from the situation surrounding YUKOS and the arrest of one of the company's senior executives will be removed soon.

When asked whether the YUKOS crisis can affect Russia's investment climate, the premier assured that no calamities would occur this time and the situation would not change dramatically.

The country's investment climate has been trending to improve in recent years, said Mr Kasyanov. The inflow of foreign capital in the country, Russia's heightened ratings in the international agencies, brisk sales of Russian companies' shares and foreign corporations' plans to build and reconstruct factories in Russia are convincing evidence of this, according to the premier.
