By linking the responsiveness of the NCEER research network with the rapid turnaround that is the hallmark of Problems of Post Communism, we will be able to relay the latest research trends and findings to the scholarly and policy communities.

Democratization, Graduation, and Russia Russia's progress toward democratization has been uneven. Putin has weakened institutional checks on presidential power and the bureaucracy remains an obstacle to responsive governance, while the judicial system is gaining a reputation as a legitimate forum for resolving some business disputes.
