RUSSIAN MEDIA GROWS

MOSCOW, 13 January, 2003. /RIA Novosti corr./ - The Russian Press Ministry has reported that the number of electronic and printed media bodies is growing.

According to the ministry's figures, 6,161 electronic media bodies have been registered today, including 868 electronic publications on the Internet, 3,267 television programs and 2,378 radio programs. 37,425 printed publications have been registered, including 22,181 papers and 12,726 magazines.

Moreover, 1,728 television and 1,246 radio companies work in the country.
