Issue No. 11 of the JRL Research and Analytical Supplement, which was distributed yesterday, contained a historical essay on "Western communists and Soviet life." One of the points I mentioned was the role played by Western engineers in Stalin's industrialization drive. I recalled that there was a book by one of these people describing his experiences in Russia, but I couldn't locate the reference. Three readers have kindly helped fill the gap. Here are the details of a currently available edition:
