Subject: Zavtra/ FSB report/ 6373

Dear David,

It seems the report that Zavtra's former deputy editor, Alexander Borodai, has been appointed Patrushev's deputy was a hoax -- so says Borodai himself, anyway. In a telephone interview with MT reporter Valeria Korchagina, Borodai said the Pravda.ru report reproduced on JRL was a gag gift for his recent 30th birthday.

"It should simply be dismissed as totally untrue," he said Monday. Borodai explained that he quit Zavtra some time ago, having found it difficult to combine his job at the paper with his work running a small political PR agency.

The FSB press service also said Monday that it was not aware of any such appointments.

Best regards,
