Investigation into apartment house bombings in Moscow,
Volgodonsk extended
ROSTOV-ON-DON. June 17 (Interfax) - The Russian Prosecutor General's Office extended by another two months the time allowed for investigating the case of a group charged with a series of apartment house bombings in Moscow and Volgodonsk in September 1999.
Deputy Prosecutor General Sergei Fridinsky said on Monday that he had signed a ruling to this effect.
"Yu. Krymshamkhalov, T. Batchayev, A. Dekkushev, D. Saitakov and A. Abayev led by A. Gochiyayev have been found to have carried out the bombings of apartment houses on Moscow's Guryanov Street and Kashirskoye Highway. Charges against them and their accomplices have been brought," he said.
The chief culprits are now in a CIS member country, Fridinsky said.
