Topics for discussion:

- Wars in the information space accompany all international conflicts either military or economic ones. Recent military operations in Lebanon (2006), Georgia (2008) and Gaza strip (2009) as well as Russia-Ukraine gas crisis in the beginning of 2009 showed the growing role of new information and communication technologies in conflicts.

- What lessons can be learnt from the recent information operations ?

- Can we say that Russia keeps loosing information campaigns in the West? Why?

- What tools should be used to achieve or at least explain national vision of a problem?

- How can national governments (and the Russian government in particular) use the new strategic communication tools (in addition to more traditional ones - TV, radio, printed press) to intensify their diplomatic efforts?
