Gazprom's Miller, U.S. ambassador talk energy cooperation

MOSCOW. Feb 13 (Interfax) - Alexei Miller, the chief executive of Gazprom (RTS: GAZP), and the U.S. ambassador to Russia, John Beyrle, discussed the prospects for Russian-U.S. energy cooperation, the Russian gas giant's press office said.

The two agreed that there were opportunities for constructive and productive relations in this sphere.

Gazprom Marketing & Trading reached agreement with Shell Western BV and BG Group in August 2005 on supplies of liquefied natural gas to the U.S. market.

Gazprom and BP signed a deal in September 2006 to supply LNG to the Atlantic region: BP shipped LNG to GM&T, which sold it on to the U.S. and other countries.

Gazprom Marketing & Trading USA was established in Houston in 2006 to handle trade deals, the lease of transport and re-gasification capacity, LNG procurement and Gazprom's long-term development in the U.S.
