The President of the Russian Institute for Democracy and Cooperation (IDC) Dr. ANDRANIK MIGRANYAN and President of the American University in Moscow Dr. EDWARD LOZANSKY will discuss the future of U.S. Russia relations after Dmitry Medvedev became President of Russia; goals and objectives of the IDC - the first Russian think tank to open its offices in the United States, and the agenda for the 27th annual WORLD RUSSIAN FORUM to be held May 19, 2008 at the Hart Senate Office Building:
Among those who have confirmed their participation in the Forum on the U.S. side are: Lt Gen Henry A. "Trey" Obering III, Director of the Missile Defense Agency; Thomas Graham, former Director of the Russian Desk at the National Security Council, now with Kissinger group; Andrew Kuchins, Director of the Center for Strategic and International Studies Russia Programs; Professor Robert Legvold of Columbia University; On the Russian side there will be Gen. Vladimir Dvorkin of the International Economics and International Relations Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Prof. Andranik Migranyan of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations who is also Pesident of the recently established Institute for Democracy and Cooperation, Sergei Rogov, Director, U.S.A. and Canada Institute, and others.
Senator John McCain is invited to deliver a keynote luncheon address but so far has not confirmed his participation.
The World Russian Forum is an annual event since 1981 which is trying to promote U.S. Russian cooperation agenda through joint projects in economics, security, business, science, education, and culture. Among Forum speakers are prominent American and Russian political leaders, businessmen, and scholars.
