Russian Observers Will Go To Monitor U.S. Polls If
Invited - Churov
ST.PETERSBURG. April 3 (Interfax) - If invited, representatives of the
Central Election Commission will travel to the United States to monitor the
presidential polls, Central Elections Commission Chairman Vladimir Churov said.
No Russian observers are in the U.S. right now, where primaries are in
progress. "If an invitation arrives, our observers will go," Churov said at a
press briefing in St.Petersburg on Thursday.
Russian observers are particularly interested in how voting is organized in
the U.S. presidential election, he also said.
"This refers first of all to the electronic voting systems, and also to the
presidential candidates' access to the mass media which is not equal in the U.S.
now," Churov said.
