Russia's Medvedev Outlines Plans for Anti-Corruption Plan

NIZHNY NOVGOROD. Feb 27 (Interfax) - An anti-corruption plan will be drawn up in several months, Russian First Deputy Primer Minister and presidential candidate Dmitry Medvedev said.

Taking questions from voters in Nizhny Novgorod on Wednesday, Medvedev said, "A plan on combating corruption will be adopted in several months, and then we will switch to its implementation."

The plan should not only include legislative measures, Medvedev said. "Such a problem as corruption cannot be defeated only by laws, however tough they are. What counts most is that an atmosphere of intolerance" toward corruption should be created, he said.

It is necessary to make people respect the law, he said.
