Condition of writer Aksyonov improves

MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax) - The condition of writer Vasily Aksyonov improved slightly on Wednesday, a Moscow doctor told Interfax.

"Vasily Pavlovich opened his eyes yesterday," he said. "There is a certain improvement from the neurological point of view, but it would be premature to make forecasts."

Aksyonov was brought to the 23rd Moscow hospital on January 15 after he had had a stroke while driving. The day after he was transferred to the Sklifosofsky Emergency Hospital and had surgery to remove a blood clot.
