On October 17, the Kennan Institute hosted a seminar on “Rethinking Russia and U.S.-Russian Relations: The Role of Russia in the Global World Order.” The lead speaker was Michael Mandelbaum, Christian A. Herter Professor of American Foreign Policy, and Director of the American Foreign Policy Program, Johns Hopkins University, The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, and author of numerous books on global political and economic issues.
This seminar was the first of three to be convened by the Woodrow Wilson Center’s Kennan Institute and a number of concerned individuals with extensive experience and deep knowledge of Russia. The three seminars will focus on:
1) The Role of Russia in the Global World Order;
2) Russia’s Role in the Global Economy; and
3) The New Russia: A Look at Internal Developments
The second and third sessions will be in mid-November and mid-January.
