MOSCOW. April 25 (Interfax) - Most Russians believe that in the West human life is valued higher than in Russia, social studies indicate.

In a poll taken by the Yury Levada Center of Analysis the results of which Interfax received on Wednesday, 69% said that in Western countries the price of human life is higher and the right to life is exercised on a wider scale, 13% felt that in Russia the situation is better while 18% were undecided.

Among the Russians who had heard about the lawsuits filed by their countrymen to the European Court of Human Rights, 37% said its judgments benefit people in the country and 17% that Russian justice should be independent of such outside interference.

In the poll conducted among 1,600 respondents in 128 towns and cities in 46 territories on April 13-16, 32% admitted they had never heard of the court in Strasbourg.
