Institute Of Democracy And Cooperation Set Up In Russia

MOSCOW. Nov 25 (Interfax) - An international human rights center has been established in Russia on the initiative of Public Chamber member, lawyer Anatoly Kucherena.

"Several Russian public organizations have united to form an Institute of Democracy and Cooperation nonprofit foundation which will be officially registered soon," Kucherena told Interfax on Sunday.

The Civil Society nonprofit organization led by Kucherena is among the 15 members of the new foundation.

"I will fly to Paris today to open the headquarters of one of our foreign branches. In Paris we'll meet with members of the French Public Camber, professional lawyers and representatives of human rights groups for consultations," Kucherena said.

"Briefly speaking, the first thing the foundation will do is monitor the observance of human rights in different countries and develop methods of perfecting civil society institutions," Kucherena said speaking about the goals and tasks of the new human rights foundation.
