Moscow court to hear case against Berezovsky
MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) - Moscow's Savyolovsky court is to hear a criminal
case opened against businessman Boris Berezovsky, who lives in self-imposed
exile in London.
"The criminal case based on charges of stealing Aeroflot money, which was
probed by the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia, was forwarded to the
Savyolovsky court in the absence of the suspect," Moscow City Court spokeswoman
Anna Usachyova told Interfax on Friday.
A date for hearings into the case "will be set in compliance with the law,"
she said.
Claims of thefts at Aeroflot were investigated in Berezovsky's absence. Court
hearings into the businessman's case will also proceed in absentia, which is
allowed by the Russian Code of Criminal Procedure in exceptional cases.
