Novaya Gazeta reporters threatened - editor-in-chief
MOSCOW. Nov 27 (Interfax) - Two Novaya Gazeta reporters received death
threats on November 24, the newspaper's editor-in-chief Dmitry Muratov said.
"They are two of the newspaper's leading reporters. I can't give any further
details by agreement with investigators," Muratov told Interfax on Monday.
Novaya Gazeta said in an official statement on Monday that the threats were
issued "in the first case following the publication of a report on problems in
the North Caucasus and, secondly, in connection with the investigation into the
murder of Novaya Gazeta journalist Anna Politkovskaya."
"One of the reporters received a message on his cell phone saying he had been
targeted and spelling out his home address. Law enforcement services have been
informed," the statement says.
