Putin promises anti-corruption onslaught

ST. PETERSBURG. June 13 (Interfax) - President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday promised a relentless campaign and stricter measures against corruption in Russia.

At a meeting with heads of foreign companies during the 10th World Economic Forum in St. Petersburg, Putin suggested talking about difficulties that foreign investors come up against in Russia.

"We are well aware that they include administrative barriers and corruption. It is not easy to combat these negative practices. But we have never ceased this fight against corruption and intend to carry it on permanently and to make it more strict, effective and consistent, and this work continues in Moscow today," Putin said.
