Main investigation of Politkovskaya murder still ahead - head of paper

Moscow, 19 February: The chief editor of the Novaya Gazeta newspaper, Dmitriy Muratov, has announced that the case of the murder of (Novaya Gazeta journalist) Anna Politkovskaya will not be over following the acquittal of the three defendants by the jury at the Moscow regional military court.
"Even earlier I would have agreed with any decision by the jury because from the very beginning they recommended themselves as very literate and serious people," Muratov told Interfax on Thursday (19 February) when commenting on the verdict.
"I want to note that nothing will end with this and that the main investigation is still ahead," the chief editor of Novaya Gazeta stressed.
