MOST RUSSIANS TRUST PRESIDENT

MOSCOW, March 3 (RIA Novosti) - Russians trust the head of state most of all, according to the poll conducted by ROMIR Monitoring and the Institute of Public Projects. The results of the poll were announced at a RIA Novosti press conference on Thursday.

72.8% of the polled trust the president, 23.3% do not trust him and 3.9% failed to answer this question.

The church and religious organizations hold the second place (59.8% of the polled). They are followed by the army (49.8%).

44.2% of Russians trust regional authorities, 43.8% trust the government and 43% - judicial authorities.

Mass media and police enjoy less trust (35.8% and 31.9% correspondingly). The Russian State Duma (28.1%) and political parties (19.2%) are among the outsiders.

The sociological poll was conducted in 408 settlements of 59 Russian regions. All in all, 15,200 people were polled.
