WORLD GROWS TO KNOW RUSSIA BETTER: FOREIGN MINISTRY

MOSCOW, February 20. /RIA Novosti/ - The world is growing to know and understand Russia better-largely thanks to public relations efforts supervised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said a conference of federal executives and spokesmen of government-sponsored media outlets, which gathered on the ministerial premises today. Igor Ivanov, Minister of Foreign Affairs, was presiding.

The conferees debated the coverage of Russia's home and foreign policies, and current political and economic reforms for the public in other countries. These are fruitful efforts. The world is kept abreast with improvements in Russian business, and sees that Russia's foreign policies are predictable. Russian contribution is necessary as burning international issues are tackled.

At the same time, the conferees spoke for smoother organisation of information work in other countries, reports the Foreign Ministry press and information department.
