Chemical Weapons:
South Korea ratified the CWC in April 1997.  Since then, it has made a concerted display of cooperating with the Organization for the Proliferation of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the administrative body overseeing the implementation of the CWC.  It is one of the four countries which have declared the existence of a CW stockpile to the OPCW, and one of only two countries to have begun reimbursing the Technical Secretariat of the OPCW for the costs of destroying their CW production facilities.

Biological Weapons:
South Korea is not known to possess nor to be actively seeking a biological weapons capability.
