   Rebuilding in the Wake of War
 
 
any countries fall into a cycle of conflict in which war is followed by an unstable peace that often leads again to war. There is a growing recognition that efforts to rebuild a society is an essential part of creating an enduring peace. Known as "post-conflict reconciliation," these efforts focus on troop demobilization, economic development, establishing justice systems and creating dialogue between former adversaries.
